Parchment Background Image for My Projects, My Parks, Vanguard West, Page 2 on FlightToAtlantis.net

The majority of my guests seem to prefer making their way clockwise around my park with most making their way through the west access path at the left, between Rip Tide and Carousel.

Continuing off the upper left of this image, around the corner is the busiest path in the park …..

….. an area which can be seen in this next image.

In addition to giving access to the pool complex (at the top left) there are several ride queues and paths along here in addition to a hot ‘n’ cold drinks island and the park’s only balloon stall.

This park’s attendance peaks at around 4,500 guests. There were some 2,500 guests in attendance when these screenshots were taken.

I like it best to have a single balloon stall and to double the default balloon prices. In a park several years old I don’t like to see all the paths awash in a sea of balloons, yet at 200% the default prices, just enough balloons are sold to make the park paths look festive when the park is full of guests.

I’ve built bigger pools than this but I think this one is my best as I’ve added more rides & slides than I usually do and is the first pool in which I’ve thoroughly integrated Lazy River into the pool decking. Suspended Swinging Coaster and Monorail both pass over this pool complex.

This is a closer view of the mini cactus garden at the entrance of pool complex.

As you can see throughout this park I’ve made splendid progress on developing my in-game foliage TexMod ReTextures pack but am still working on a substitute for the flowers on the in-game Pandora plant.

A moderately sized pool shops plaza is located on either side of the pool complex changing rooms.

There are two cannon rides in this pool complex, both being made from the Master Blaster track. Aqua Blaster is built with the launch sections that come with the track while with the other, Aqua Cannon, I’ve used the David Braben chain lift cheat.

The cheated ride originally had a lift speed of 200km/h and perhaps a year ago had been previously built and tested in a sandbox. I initially placed it in this pool complex without making any changes because I wasn’t sure whether to adjust the chain lift speed up or down. The first guest who rode it in this park was launched beyond the other rides & slides at the far end of the pool complex and landed on the terrain near the park border. I laughed so hard I nearly fell out of my chair. Needless to say I’ve lowered the lift speed considerably for everyday use in this park. The path the guests take through the air from each of these cannons is outlined in the image below.

Interestingly the game engine finishes rating these cannon slides at the moment the guest leaves the track and is airborne. While there is no doubt as to the excitement and intensity of these rides the airborne part of the ride is not acknowledged by the game engine.

I don’t often use the spiral stairs with my pools but they’re really suitable for the tall slide stations in this pool complex. This is the first time I’ve used the Ring Rafts slide which originated in Track Browser. It has had a minor modification.
