In my Aegean Sands park I had made few sets of accessories for pool complex, all of which would have appeared out of place in a Port Of Entry themed park.

Pool Shader

In our POE Presentation Park I did want something to cover the pool but wanted to steer clear of simply making an oversized fabric canopy.

The steel reinforced concrete supports in this shader started out as sketches on paper with a considerable amount of shape editing being done before I finally felt satisfied enough with the results that I was ready to manipulate the shape in SketchUp.

I had visited an aquarium once where they had sea turtles in an outdoor pool. It was a large pool with a moderately sized deck at one end that was covered with beach sand so the turtles would have somewhere to come out of the water. Above most of the pool there was a wood slatted canopy to keep their water cool & to protect them from the sun. That canopy was the inspiration for the slatted beams in this pool complex shader canopy, although my canopy isn’t the same lovely, classic shape the sea turtles enjoyed above their home.

Lamps, Planters, and Fencing

To coordinate with the pool shader, the privately released version of this set includes POE themed path-style lamps and POE themed planters especially for the pool decking. Also at pool decking height are wood handrails that come either with or without opaque glass fencing.

The glass fencing is enhanced with POE themed wrought iron trim. The wood handrails are supported by stone block posts.

These Pool Complex Extras go beautifully with our POE themed park and with scenery I’ve previously made.
