Parchment Background Image for RCT3 FAQ: Errors, Quirks, and Oddities: People Spilling Down Stairs on FlightToAtlantis.net

Some RCT3 YouTube videos indicate that it’s possible for people in the park to spontaneously fall all the way down to the bottom of long stair systems.

When changing the path stairs in a park with the park paused, after resuming the game we’ve noticed the guests have fallen down our repositioned stairs but we haven’t yet observed it happening spontaneously.

If you pause your game while your guests are on path stairs and then make alterations to those stairs:

If a path stair is deleted and the replacement stair is lower or at the same height as the deleted stair, when you resume the game guests on that stair will fall down the replacement stair. They will continue falling until your stairs end, after which they will either slide along the path, or slide off the edge of the path. After they slide off the path, if the terrain is not level they will continue falling down the terrain until they reach a level area of terrain, or until they reach water.

If a path stair is deleted and the replacement is higher than the deleted stair, when you resume the game guests on that stair will fall through the replacement stair as if it isn't there, and continue falling down any terrain that's not level, until they reach a level area of terrain, or until they reach water.

Guests who were not on your stairs at the time you made your adjustments will use your altered stairs in the usual way.
