Installing a set into the Custom folder can be a mystery to someone who hasn’t done it before. If you’ve downloaded a CFR it will need to be placed inside your Style folder, and inside your Style  folder there needs to be another folder named Custom into which you'll put your downloads. We’ll show you here how to do this.

The Custom folder does not come with the RCT3 install so if you don’t yet have a Custom folder inside your Style folder then you need to create one. Simply use Windows Explorer to create a new folder and then name it “Custom.” Be sure the word Custom has an uppercase C . The path of this folder will be:

Program Files/Atari/RollerCoaster Tycoon 3/Style/Custom

To place inside our Custom folder, each custom artist creates a folder labeled with his own name inside into which we’ll place any flat ride they’ve created that we’ve downloaded.

For example, if today we were to download Patrick’s Little Chairswing and we hadn’t before downloaded any CFR from Patrick, we’d create a new folder inside our Custom folder and name that folder “Patrick.” This would be the positioning of that folder:

Program Files/Atari/RollerCoaster Tycoon 3/Style/Custom/Patrick

Inside the Patrick folder we’d place our “little chairswing” folder:

Program Files/Atari/RollerCoaster Tycoon 3/Style/Custom/Patrick/little chairswing

If next week we downloaded Patrick’s Halve Maen we wouldn’t need to make a new Custom folder or a new Patrick folder because we've already created these folders; we’d simply place the Halve Maen folder we’d downloaded inside the Patrick folder we already created the week before, like so:

Program Files/Atari/RollerCoaster Tycoon 3/Style/Custom/Patrick/HalveMaen

In this example you'd now have two folders inside your Custom/Patrick folder:

there'd be one folder in there named little chairswing,

and the other folder beside it would be labeled Halve Maen.

The custom artist should always include the folder along with its proper name in the download so we don’t need to figure out the correct name to give any folder that we need to put inside Custom.

As with any other custom content we download one shouldn’t change the name of any of the files or folders that have been downloaded with any CFR.
