Parchment Background Image for Hall of Fame: Spring 2018: Spice's Invisible Pool CS on FlightToAtlantis.net

How many times have you built a pool, added terrific water slides, and then been dissatisfied with the pool fencing and the pool paths & their supports?

While this author continues to be impressed that the developers of RCT3 got so much into one PC game, they seem to have missed the mark when it came to creating supports for the paths, and just like the supports that come with the standard park access paths the pool path supports disappear when creating multi-level access configurations. And whatever could they have been thinking when they came up with those pool railings? What a let-down!

The appearance of your pools can be vastly improved with a CSO set that includes pool path scenery, such as CTRS Aqualander, while a great substitute for pool path supports are the track supports that come in Shy’s Water World Set.

Although we've used those sets here, as you see the in-game pool path supports and pool & path fencing are now detracting from our efforts with the Aqualander and Water World sets.

Of course, we can go into our LOD options and whack our support settings down so they won’t show but that means we’d need to replace the supports for every track in our park. We’ve shown this in our next image where, even with all the supports gone, our in-game pool fences remain in view.

One of our community's best-known CS Artists has provided an innovative response to this dilemma … enter Old Spice’s Invisible Pool CS. The EXE file that comes in the download will install Old Spice’s Custom Pools Set which comes with invisible pool paths, invisible pool path supports, and invisible pool fences.

In this next image are the same scenery pieces & pool complex on another RCT3 installation in which Old Spice’s Invisible Pool CS has been installed.

Now those pool paths and their supports look like something!

We’ve used TexMod, added some additional CSO’s, have opened the pool to guests, and now we can display our results in a park setting.

Once installed Spice’s Invisible Pool CS can be found in the pool building interface. When building your pool, select the standard icons and Spice’s invisible parts will place. If you’re already used to placing invisible paths about your park and if you’re already familiar with how pool paths do and don’t place then you’ll have no trouble placing Spice’s invisible pool paths. Spice’s installer overwrites the in-game pool parts with his invisible ones so you’ll either have visible pool parts, or invisible pool parts. As talented as Old Spice is RCT3 won’t allow us to have visible and invisible versions of these pieces installed both at the same time.

When it comes to blending Pool Complex decking into Lazy River decking Spice's Invisible Pool CS is ideal. Because Spice's invisible pieces hide the in-game pool fencing your pool and your river attractions will appear to be all-in-one.

Without this set created by Old Spice we wouldn't be able to achieve such a custom look with our pool or pool paths. Spice’s Invisible Pool CS will radically alter the way you place scenery about your pools.

As Spice’s website seems to be off the air, we’ve put this set up temporarily at File Transfer Database until A Hint of Spice is back on line.
