Parchment Background Image for How To's: Park Shuttle Configurations, Page 2 on FlightToAtlantis.net

In a new sandbox, when placing the first section of a track the default direction of travel is from west to east. Note the directional arrow drawn on the track piece while it is in blue ghost mode.

It’s possible to begin your track in another direction but you’ll first need to rotate the track piece before you start building.

Here two examples of Safari Train set up as a shuttle:

Example A:

In relation to the park entrance, this train is traveling in the default direction, from west to east.

When building shuttle configurations you may start the track where you like and place the stations, entrance booths, and exit booths in any order convenient. With our fix described here, you can get the game engine to organize the location of the trains and the order of the stations for you.

Example A and the illustration below show that with tracks placed in the default direction (from west to east) Station 1 is always nearest the park entrance side/south side of your park.

Example B and the illustration below show that with tracks placed in reverse to the default direction (from east to west) Station 1 is always nearest the east side of your park.

So as you see there are several options from which we may choose to create shuttle configurations and to place our stations about in a way that entirely suits our needs.

If you find after building multi-station tracks that your trains don't stop at some of your stations, this article will explain why this happens. This article also provides the fix.
