Chroma green, chroma blue, pure black and pure white terrain and cliff textures through TexMod.

My Downloads - TexMod Packs: Chroma Key Terrain - Screenshot Displaying All Four Cliff ReTextures and All Four Terrain ReTextures In Demo Park, Image 01

We present a set of four TexMod retexture packs. Each pack replaces one in-game terrain texture with one chroma texture. Should it turn out that the terrain texture replaced by these packs is one you like to use a lot then there is an alternative texture pack containing the same chroma which uses a different terrain texture. This will leave your favorite texture free for regular use while enabling you to also use a chroma retexture. The packs come in four different colors:

chroma green

chroma blue

solid black

solid white

These packs have not been tested with djF's Terrain ReTextures so this information is based on the terrain textures that come with a standard install of RCT3. There are six cliff textures in the game and for simplicity we’ll review how these packs work using the cliff textures with this illustration of what I’ve done:

My Downloads - TexMod Packs: Chroma Key Terrain - The In-Game Cliff Textures, Numbered from 1 - 6, Image 02

Notice I’ve numbered the textures from 1-6. If RCT3 numbers them it probably numbers them from 0-5 but 1-6 will better serve us.

In one set of packs I’ve chosen to substitute cliff texture 2 and and in the other set of packs cliff texture 6 has been substituted with chroma textures.

In the download you will note, for example, that there are two chroma green packs. One chroma green pack replaces texture 2, the other chroma green pack replaces texture 6. This is so that if it turns out that you favour using cliff face 6 in all your parks then you can use the chroma pack that’s replaced texture 2. This way you can have your favourite cliff face and your chroma cliff face too.

To recap, although there are four colours there are a total of eight packs:

1

The Chroma Green Pack replacing terrain texture 2,

2

The Chroma Green Pack replacing terrain texture 6,

3

The Chroma Blue Pack replacing terrain texture 2,

4

The Chroma Blue Pack replacing terrain texture 6,

5

The Pure Black Pack replacing terrain texture 2,

6

The Pure Black Pack replacing terrain texture 6,

7

The Pure White Pack replacing terrain texture 2, and

8

The Pure White Pack replacing terrain texture 6.

So if you wanted to load a green chroma and you have lots of terrain texture 6 in your park and you still wanted to see the texture 6 and have the chroma too, then you would use “1.” In this same example, if you wanted to load a green chroma and you already have lots of texture 6 in your park and you want all the texture 6 to become green chroma then you would choose "2."

When the chroma textures are accessed in the game you will find when opening the menus that the chroma colour you loaded will display in the menus.

So everyone can have access to one chroma plus the maximum number of regular terrain textures, with the way these packs are set up it is not possible to load more than one chroma at a time. The lead illustration in this description is set up in this way so that one can see the different colour chromas available in all the packs all in one image, rather than having four separate images.

If one loads one of my chroma packs one will always get both a terrain chroma texture and a cliff face chroma texture. You will find the chroma colours are consistent and are not mixed within individual packs so the cliff face chroma colour will always be the same color as the terrain chroma.
